EasyJet has announced plans to hire more than 1,200 cabin crew members, marking the largest intake in its 21-year history. The new recruits will fill both permanent and fixed-term positions, boosting the airline's total cabin crew count to 8,100.
The Luton-based carrier earlier this year revealed it was recruiting over 450 pilots and offering promotion opportunities for first officers to captaincy roles. The airline operates more than 270 aircraft on over 880 routes across 31 countries.
Tina Milton, EasyJet's head of cabin service, said: 'We're delighted to be opening recruitment for more than 1,200 cabin crew positions today. EasyJet is a fantastic company to work for, with everyone across the airline working together as one team to ensure we provide the highest standard of service for our customers.'
She added: 'Being cabin crew is a very rewarding role. Our teams are extremely professional and energetic with a real sense of fun. We're looking forward to welcoming more people into our growing team.'
EasyJet has also applied for a new air operator's certificate in Austria to ensure it can continue flying within the European Union after Brexit.
