EasyJet to Cover £66.50 Baby Passport Fee for Families Booking by November Deadline
EasyJet Covers £66.50 Baby Passport Fee for Bookings by Nov 26

EasyJet has announced a scheme to cover the £66.50 cost of newborn babies' passports for families who book an easyJet holiday by November 26. The move is designed to make travelling with young children easier and to help save money on a family's first trip abroad.

The standard child's passport in the UK, including for babies, costs £66.50 when applied for online, or £80 by paper. Under the new initiative, easyJet and easyJet holidays will cover the online fee for parents who book through the provider before the deadline.

Survey Highlights Parent Priorities

The announcement follows a survey by the airline and tour operator which found that 75 per cent of parents said covering their baby's passport would make a holiday feel more affordable. The same study revealed that 4 in 5 parents described a baby's first holiday as a defining family moment, with more than half calling it one of their proudest milestones as a parent.

Additionally, 47 per cent of parents said taking their children abroad makes them more curious about the world. easyJet holidays reported a 10 per cent increase in the number of babies travelling this year compared to 2025.

Passport Photo Guidance

With the passport cost covered, parents will only need to capture an approved passport photo. Almost a quarter of parents surveyed said it took about six attempts to get the right image, while nearly one in ten admitted they did not know their baby needed a passport until planning their trip.

Parents can take the photo at home using a phone and submit it online, provided it meets official guidelines from HM Passport Office. This avoids the need to take a baby to a passport booth.

Support for Young Families

EasyJet has also released a short video on the Peppa Pig Muddy Puddle Parenting YouTube channel, starring easyJet Captain Kate West, a new parent, alongside Mummy Pig and the family. The video offers advice on taking a baby passport photo and tips for travelling abroad with little ones.

Captain Kate commented: "We carry millions of families across Europe every year, and we know that travelling with a baby brings a whole series of exciting firsts. We want to make travel as easy and accessible as possible for everyone, including young families, so they can enjoy all the experiences and memories that travel can bring. We hope that covering the cost of a baby’s first passport goes a small way towards making that first family adventure a little easier and gives our youngest travellers a warm welcome to the world."
