An American couple touring the UK for seven months have declared Coventry one of England's most underrated destinations. YouTube sensations Cara and Jeremy, who run The Magic Geekdom channel, said the West Midlands city 'completely defied our expectation'.
In their video '10 must visit places in England', the pair praised Coventry's attractions. Cara said: 'One of the biggest surprises of all our travels in England has to be Coventry. It is a city that often gets a bad rap but we found it to be an absolute gem with incredibly friendly locals, amazing museums, and pretty significant historic sites.'
They highlighted the Coventry Transport Museum as 'one of the best' in the UK, and explored the ruins of Coventry Cathedral, left standing after the 1940 blitz. They also recommended FarGo Village, where Cara described the hand-pulled noodles as 'seriously one of the best things I have ever eaten anywhere'.
The couple stayed at Swanswell Gate, a 15th-century medieval gatehouse, and praised historic Spon Street and The Castle Grounds on Little Park Street. Cara added: 'What we discovered in Coventry was a city which completely defied our expectations. Between the museums, the history and the genuine warmth of locals, this city definitely deserves so much more love than it gets.'
