Albufeira Named Best November Getaway with 20C and £15 Flights

Albufeira, a city on Portugal's southern Algarve coast, has been named the best place to visit in November by Enjoy Travel, offering average temperatures of 20C and direct flights from Liverpool starting at £15.

The city is known for its golden-sand beaches, luxurious resorts, and whitewashed Old Town. Its mild year-round climate, thriving food scene, and quieter local towns during winter contributed to the ranking.

Why Albufeira Tops the List

Enjoy Travel said: "Albufeira is a great place to head to in November" and noted that average temperatures are 20C, which can reach the high 20s. The publication highlighted its position on the "warm, dry Algarve on Portugal's southern coast" and the "quieter November atmosphere" compared to summer.

"The beaches are much quieter, as are the local towns and villages, meaning that you don't need to set out too early to guarantee a spot. Plus, with daily temperatures often soaring into the mid-to-high 20s, it's more than comfortable enough to walk around in shorts and a T-shirt," Enjoy Travel added.

Exploring and Dining in November

The mild weather allows visitors to relax on beaches or explore the Old Town's cobblestone lanes, whitewashed buildings, 16th-century churches, boutiques, museums, and al fresco cafés.

November is also a peak time for the Algarve's food scene. Enjoy Travel recommended: "The Algarve's food scene is arguably at its peak in November, with fresh fish caught daily, and if you hire a car, you can visit nearby towns and cities like Faro, Lagos and Vilamoura: all within a 40-minute drive of your base in Albufeira."

Getting There and Other Top Spots

Albufeira is a half-hour drive from Faro International Airport and under a three-hour direct flight from Liverpool John Lennon Airport. One-way Ryanair flights from Liverpool to Faro start from £15 in November, according to Skyscanner.

Playa Blanca in Lanzarote and Alicante in Spain made the top three. Cape Town, South Africa, ranked fourth, followed by the Sunshine Coast in Australia, Bordeaux in France, and Rovaniemi in Finland.
