Celestial Evening Boat Trip
On August 12, a special boat trip will run to Caldey Island from Tenby, after normal visiting hours, for the solar eclipse. Visitors will remain on the island and gather at Caldey's iconic lighthouse to watch the eclipse. Tickets are £44.04.

Ffos Las Racecourse's Ladies Day returns for summer 2026, combining fashion with fast-paced racing, live music, cocktails, and food. Tickets start at £24.
Fine Dining by the Coast
Simmons by the Sea returns to Newport, Pembrokeshire, taking over Tides Kitchen & Wine Bar for four weeks in August. Chef Tom Simmons offers a five-course evening tasting menu celebrating Welsh produce.
Scenic Walks
Options for nature escapes are plentiful. Portmeirion Village in north Wales features Italianate buildings and gardens. Ynys Llanddwyn on Anglesey offers a walk to a lovers' island with lighthouses and the remains of St Dwynwen’s Church. The Worms Head Walk on Gower is a six-mile trail with views across Rhossili Bay.
London's Hottest Welsh Cafe
Peckham's Welsh cafe, Bara, will pop up in Wales this August: on August 15 at Coaltown coffee in Ammanford, and on August 16 at the Wainwright's Honey Festival in Aberystwyth. Sample their Caerphilly cheese steak sandwich and honey butter pancakes.
Nostalgia Hit
Cardiff's Tiger Yard hosts a Back to the '90s Festival on August 8 from 3pm, with Old Skool dance, house, trance, and hardcore anthems, featuring guests like N-trance, Phats and Small, and Ultrabeat.

The Swansea Food & Drink Festival runs August 7-9 on Oxford Street, Princess Way, and Portland Street.
