A travel expert has identified three European destinations where holiday prices have dropped this summer, bucking the trend of rising costs. Gavin Brewer, Head of Aviation at loveholidays, said that while there is no blanket rise in holiday costs, bargains are still available.
Bulgaria has seen the largest price cut among European hotspots, with seven-night packages falling by an average of £60 per person. Known for its golden Black Sea beaches and budget-friendly prices, a local beer costs around £2. Popular spots include Sofia's Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and the ancient city of Plovdiv.
Montenegro, often compared to Croatia but less crowded, has seen prices drop by roughly £53 per person. Highlights include the Bay of Kotor, described as 'Europe's southernmost fjord', and Durmitor National Park with its glacial lakes.
Turkey has also become more affordable, with prices slashed by about £35 per person. Visitors can explore Istanbul's historic Sultanahmet district or the unique rock formations and hot air balloons of Cappadocia.
Brewer added that searching for holidays based on budget alone is a good way to find affordable getaways this summer.
