Uber Eats and wagamama Launch Tokyo Drift Deliveries

Uber Eats and wagamama have partnered for a unique delivery service, replacing standard mopeds with a Japanese street car inspired by Tokyo's underground racing scene. British drift champion Ollie Evans will deliver piping-hot katsu curry and other dishes across London from July 21 to July 23, 2026.

Drift Deliveries Celebration

The high-octane stunt marks wagamama's launch on Uber Eats, making popular menu items like chicken katsu curry, gyoza, and bang bang cauliflower available for delivery nationwide. Evans, who has traded the podium for food delivery, will make surprise drop-offs in a full-throttle Japanese street car.

Customer Competition

Customers ordering wagamama through Uber Eats between July 21 and 23 will be entered into a ballot to win a year's supply of food. Finalists will be invited to participate in a food-inspired drift challenge, riding alongside Evans at a UK racetrack.

Executive Comments

Merve Basci, general manager at Uber Eats UK, stated: "Great food deserves memorable moments. As wagamama reaches more homes than ever through Uber Eats, we wanted to celebrate in a way that's as bold and energetic as the food itself. Drift Deliveries turns an everyday order into something completely unexpected."

Mark Chambers, CEO at wagamama UK, added: "wagamama has always been about serving fresh food, cooked to order and full of flavour. Launching on Uber Eats means even more people across the UK can enjoy their favourite dishes, wherever they are. To celebrate, we wanted to do something that captured the energy and passion behind the food while staying true to our Japanese roots. Drift Deliveries brings together speed, spectacle and culture to mark the occasion in a way that's unmistakably wagamama."
