Turkey Hair Transplant Cost Man £9,000 and Years of Misery

Valentino Cinavrio, 34, spent approximately £8,900 on a hair transplant in Turkey that left him with patchy, unnatural results and years of emotional distress. The initial procedure cost £2,550, but additional corrective treatments pushed the total higher.

First Transplant Experience

Valentino sought an affordable solution for thinning hair and chose a Turkish clinic. During the surgery, trainees performed the procedure while the doctor was barely present. He fainted at the start, and the lack of proper medical oversight made him feel unsafe. The extraction process was extremely painful despite anesthesia.

Months later, the results were uneven. Grafts were placed randomly, creating an unnatural hairline. The clinic offered vague responses and no real follow-up, leaving Valentino feeling abandoned.

Impact on Daily Life

The failed transplant affected his confidence and lifestyle. He hid under hats, avoided swimming pools and beaches, and used hair fibers to disguise the patchy hairline. "I was in my mid-20s and blamed myself for choosing the wrong clinic," he said.

Second Transplant Success

For his second procedure, Valentino traveled to Turkey a year early to personally visit multiple clinics. He rejected a £17,000 offer to promote a clinic he didn't trust. He chose a clinic with limited daily patients and direct doctor involvement. In late 2024, he received 3,246 grafts using the DHI technique, along with exosome therapy. Seven months into recovery, he is optimistic.

Advice for Others

Valentino urges thorough research: "Visit clinics first, ask questions, and understand the process. Social media can be misleading. That extra step can save years of regret."
