Google’s Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL are available for preorder ahead of their official launch on 20 August. The new range includes four models: the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, the larger Pixel 11 Pro XL, and the foldable Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Until 1 September, buyers can trade in an eligible device and save up to £850, which includes a £400 bonus on top of the standard trade-in value.
Key features of the Pixel 11 Pro
The design retains Google’s trademark Camera Bar across the back, which prevents the phone from wobbling when used on a flat surface. The latest model is also thinner than its predecessor. A new feature called HiLight is a colour LED ring around the rear camera flash on the Pro models. It flashes in five preset colours to identify callers even when the phone is face down, and it glows when Gemini, the phone’s AI system, is activated.
The folding model is also thinner, though its two halves differ noticeably in thickness, but it is not as slim as the recently released Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. Google has favoured slightly thicker foldables to accommodate larger batteries. The Pro displays have increased scratch resistance, and the foldable has a tougher back.
Software and AI enhancements
Software remains a major focus, with a more powerful processor enabling advanced AI features. Gboard Rambler is a speech-to-text feature that automatically filters out filler words like “ums” and “ahs”. Contextual suggestions have been improved, such as showing live flight statuses when travel plans are mentioned or offering to book a restaurant during dinner conversations.
Sign-To-Text is a new feature that uses the front-facing camera to translate American Sign Language into text in real time, which can then be spoken aloud. Photography continues to be a key selling point: Pro Zoom reaches up to 120x, 8K video recording at 24/30fps is powered by Video Boost, and Magic Capture can record video and high-resolution stills simultaneously.
How to preorder with trade-in
The Pixel 11 Pro comes in four colourways: Canyon, Olive, Fog, and matte Obsidian. To claim the trade-in offer, add the new Pixel to your basket, select your trade-in device, and Google will provide an estimated value before sending a prepaid label. After moving data to the new phone, factory reset the old device, remove locks or passwords, and send it back. Google will inspect the device and email the confirmed trade-in value.
There is also a Pixel Watch 5 incentive, with eligible watch trade-ins worth up to £260, including a £50 bonus. Those preordering the Pixel 11 Pro can save up to £80 on the Pixel Watch 5.
