Design and Engine Specs
The GranTurismo's styling was designed by Pininfarina, the same Italian design house behind many Ferrari classics like the Testarossa and F40. It is powered by a 4.7-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine producing up to 460 bhp and reaching 7,000 rpm.
The car can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 4.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 186 mph. This is slightly down on the Ferrari California, which achieves 0-62 mph in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 193 mph, but the difference is marginal.
Fuel Economy and Convertible Options
On motorway driving, the Maserati achieves 20 miles per gallon, slightly better than the California's 19 mpg. In urban environments, the Ferrari manages around 13 mpg, while the Maserati achieves 11 mpg.
Both cars are available as convertibles. The Ferrari California uses a folding metal hardtop, while the Maserati GranTurismo features a soft fabric top.
Track-Focused MC Stradale
For those wanting extra performance, the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale is a track-focused version. It uses the same 4.7-litre V8 engine but boosted to 450 bhp. The Stradale is 110 kg lighter than the standard model and has stiffer suspension.
