Manchester United have been offered Arsenal midfielder Myles Lewis-Skelly, while Real Madrid are reportedly willing to offload three players, including Ferland Mendy and Eduardo Camavinga.
Lewis-Skelly offered to United
The £75million acquisition of Bruno Guimaraes appears poised to trigger a knock-on effect at the Emirates Stadium. That follows reports suggesting Myles Lewis-Skelly has been presented to both United and Chelsea this week.
Despite demonstrating considerable potential as a left-back initially, Mikel Arteta deployed Lewis-Skelly in midfield last term. The 19-year-old delivered some vital performances during the closing stages of last season as the Gunners secured the Premier League title and reached the Champions League final.
As it happens, United have a pressing need for a new left-back as they seek a long-term replacement for Luke Shaw. Newcastle's Lewis Hall has been heavily touted as a candidate for that position, though the Magpies are reluctant to sell and would want a minimum of £60million.
But with Arsenal having Jurrien Timber, Riccardo Calafiori and Piero Hincapie as his left-back options plus an abundance of midfielders, Lewis-Skelly may now be available. Chelsea could also pose a significant threat to any ambitions of signing Lewis-Skelly, given his London roots and his previous training as a youngster at Cobham.
The teenager would suit United's transfer requirements, given they are understood to be pursuing one further midfield option alongside a new left-back prospect. The England international satisfies both criteria, though precisely how much Arsenal would demand for Lewis-Skelly's signature remains to be seen. A fee of £45m has been bandied about.
Real Madrid transfer list trio
Elsewhere, Jose Mourinho is reportedly willing to offload three players considered surplus to requirements at Real Madrid. And United could be well placed to take advantage of one or more of those available assets.
According to Spanish publication AS, 'The Special One' has stated he wants a squad of 20, plus the currently injured trio of Rodrygo, Eder Militao and Ferland Mendy. However, Mendy is among those who could be moved on owing to the fierce competition at left-back following Marc Cucurella's arrival.
Mendy has no desire to depart the Bernabeu, yet his fitness problems have done little to instil confidence in Madrid. Former United prospect Alvaro Carreras is the other left-back choice thought to sit above the Frenchman in the hierarchy.
Should Mendy reconsider his stance, this could capture United's attention. Eduardo Camavinga finds himself in a comparable situation and has no wish to exit Real. United have been heavily linked with the midfielder previously and could benefit from his abilities, given Camavinga has already demonstrated his versatility in midfield or at left-back.
The other Real name reportedly available is academy graduate Raul Asencio. Nevertheless, United aren't believed to be actively pursuing new additions in central defence at present.
