Diomande scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists in 36 appearances for Leipzig, helping the club finish third in the Bundesliga and secure a return to the Champions League. He also featured at the World Cup with Ivory Coast, providing one assist in four matches before his nation exited in the Round of 32 after a defeat to Norway.
Liverpool's Earlier Agreement
Before the World Cup, Liverpool appeared to be at the front of the queue for Diomande, with Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City also closely linked. However, United now believe they have overtaken their rivals.
