Filmmaker Guy Ritchie is developing a new London-set crime drama titled Capital for Amazon MGM Studios, co-writing, directing, and producing alongside Rob Williams, known for the Netflix miniseries The Witness. The project is in early development with no casting announced yet.
What Is Capital About?
According to Deadline, Capital is described as a crime drama exploring the underbelly of modern-day London. Ritchie's signature style, seen in films like Snatch and Sherlock Holmes, is expected to infuse the series with gritty action and gangster elements.
Ritchie's Track Record with Amazon
Capital marks Ritchie's second series for Amazon, following Young Sherlock, which was recently renewed for a second season on Prime Video. Young Sherlock reached 45 million viewers in its first 28 days and ranked among the top 10 Prime original seasons of all time, hitting number one in over 95 countries.

Ritchie's Other Projects
Ritchie's 2009 film Sherlock Holmes, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law, grossed $525 million worldwide, becoming the eighth-highest-grossing film of that year. Downey Jr. won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy for his role. Ritchie also created MobLand, which received a Season 2 release date of September 18 on Paramount+.
