Google has unveiled its latest Pixel smartphones, the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold, introducing a HiLight feature that Apple and Samsung currently cannot match. The HiLight system uses mini LEDs on the rear case to glow for incoming notifications, allowing users to keep the device face down and still see alerts. Custom colours can be assigned to contacts, and the LEDs also signal when the Gemini assistant is listening, thinking, or responding. Google says more features, including text message alerts from friends and family, are on the way.
Tensor G6 and camera upgrades
The new phones are powered by a faster Tensor G6 processor, promising up to 20 percent better power efficiency, 25 percent faster browsing, and 15 percent faster app loading. The chip also enhances AI capabilities, enabling on-device Gemini experiences that can suggest dinner locations or show calendar availability when a friend texts.
The rear cameras have been redesigned with a 50MP wide, 48MP ultrawide with Macro Focus, and a 48MP telephoto with Pro Zoom. A new Magic Capture mode lets users record a moment, such as a family BBQ, with the phone finding and editing high-quality photos for instant sharing.
Design and availability
Other features include displays with up to 3600 nits peak brightness, all-day battery life, fast charging, and Pixelsnap technology for magnetic wireless charging. The 2026 design reduces the camera bump and adds Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 with an anti-scratch shield.
The 6.3-inch Pixel 11 Pro starts at £1,079, the 6.8-inch XL at £1,279, and the standard Pixel 11 at £879, which gets the Tensor G6 processor, new colours including Hibiscus pink, and better cameras but misses out on HiLight. All devices are available from today.
Pixel 11 Pro Fold
Google is also releasing the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, which opens like a book to reveal a tablet-style display. It features HiLight, improved durability, brighter screens, faster charging, and is slightly thinner and lighter. It includes new colours, longer battery life, and a boosted rear camera. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold costs £1,799.
