Samsung has launched its latest mobile range, including new foldable phones and upgraded wearables. The Galaxy Watch9, described as "the ultimate everyday health companion", features the Snapdragon Wear Elite platform, improved battery life, lightweight aluminium, and Galaxy AI capabilities.
Free Watch with Pre-Order
Sky Mobile is offering the Galaxy Watch9 for free with pre-orders of the Galaxy Z Flip8, Z Fold8, or Z Fold8 Ultra. The Z Flip8 starts at £38 per month, the Z Fold8 at £46, and the Z Fold8 Ultra at £51, with a £12 upfront cost. Contracts last 36 months, with an upgrade option after 24 months. Plans include 100MB data, but a 75GB option is available for £14 (was £23). Orders placed by August 26 receive the watch within 30 days.
Those ordering the Z Flip8 get a 40mm black model worth £349, while the Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra come with the 44mm black model valued at £379. Sky Mobile also offers an additional £300 bill credit for trade-ins.

Mobiles.co.uk provides a £50 discount on upfront costs with code SAVE50, reducing the Z Flip8 to £35.99 and £19 upfront on iD Mobile's 100GB tariff, and the Z Fold8 to £56.99 and £19 upfront. For outright purchases, Amazon offers pre-orders starting at £1,149 for the Z Flip8, £1,699 for the Z Fold8, and £1,899 for the Z Fold8 Ultra.
Watch9 Impressions
Android Central praised the Galaxy Watch9, stating: "The Galaxy Watch9 is here and debuts Qualcomm's new Snapdragon chip for wearables. This upgrade alone should unlock features like better battery life, new on-device AI capabilities, and better all-around performance. It also has a larger battery, which should fix our biggest gripe with the Watch8." However, they noted it "remained largely unchanged" in design, adding: "The Watch9 doesn't reinvent the squircle by any means, but upgrades to the processor and battery capacity make it that much better."
Dave Snelling, who previewed the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 at the London launch, commented: "Firstly, there’s a boost in overall performance with this latest gadget now powered by the Snapdragon Wear Elite processor. This should make things way more snappy to use, along with improving things such as the time it takes to launch apps. Then there’s battery life, with Samsung promising a boost of around 35 per cent over its older siblings."
