Fiat 500e Price Cut: City EV Now £17k After Grant

The Fiat 500e has received a significant price reduction following the UK government's Electric Car Grant, with the entry-level model now available for just £17,245 after a £3,750 discount. This makes the compact electric vehicle one of the most affordable options on the market, ideal for urban driving and parking.

Price and Battery Options

The base version of the Fiat 500e comes with a 24kWh battery and a 94bhp electric motor, offering a range of 118 miles. For an additional £3,000, buyers can upgrade to the 42kWh battery variant, which provides up to 199 miles of range. The standard model reaches a top speed of 84mph, while the premium version increases to 93mph.

Dimensions and Charging

With folded mirrors, the Fiat 500e measures just 1,683mm in width and 3,632mm in length, making it easy to maneuver and park in tight city spaces. Charging the 42kWh battery from empty to full takes up to six hours using a home charger, while a rapid charger can replenish the battery from 20% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes.

Interior and Technology

Although interior space is limited, the 500e offers a more refined cabin compared to previous Fiat 500 models. All versions come standard with a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto connectivity.

Government Grant Details

The price cut is part of Labour's Electric Car Grant, launched in summer 2025, which provides savings on new zero-emission vehicles costing £37,000 or less. Dealerships automatically apply the discount to eligible models. The scheme has been extended to 2030 with additional funding secured.
