A heatwave has prompted one user to swap their Dyson fan for a Dreo TurboCool Misting Fan 516S, which they say cools them down in seconds. Originally priced at £99.99, it is currently available on Amazon for £84.99.
The user praised the fan's misting feature, stating it feels incredible when standing in front of it. Setup was straightforward: filling the water tank, screwing the lid back on, and plugging it in. The smart features, including the Dreo app and Alexa compatibility, were also easy to configure, taking under two minutes.
The fan can be controlled via remote, app, or voice commands. The app allows scheduling, so the user can cool their bedroom before going to bed or have the fan on in the morning. The app also provides a cleaning reminder every 100 hours to prevent bacterial growth.
Compared to their Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool HP1 (£549.95), the user finds the misting fan more effective at cooling and less expensive to run, though it lacks a purifying feature. They noted that the Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo Cordless Fan (£89) offers portability but risks running out of battery.
The user is cautious about using the fan in their home library due to potential humidity damage to books, but the mist can be turned off. Overall, they are thrilled with the fan and may purchase a second one for upstairs cooling.
