Arsenal have reportedly held discussions with Galatasaray over a potential move for Victor Osimhen, while also expressing interest in defender Jarell Quansah. The Premier League champions are looking to add a marquee forward and defensive cover before the summer transfer window closes.
Osimhen talks with Galatasaray
The Telegraph reports that sporting director Andrea Berta recently met with Galatasaray to discuss the Turkish club's interest in Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri. Galatasaray have already seen a £38.4m offer for Martinelli rejected. During those discussions, the possibility of Osimhen moving to Arsenal was also raised, though it is unclear who initiated the topic.
Osimhen, 27, is widely regarded as one of Europe's most lethal finishers. A potential deal would likely see Martinelli or Viktor Gyokeres sold to balance the books and free up squad space.
Quansah clause and alternatives
Arsenal have also expressed interest in signing Quansah from Bayer Leverkusen, with talks reportedly in an exploratory stage. The 23-year-old England defender can play both centre-back and right-back, which is valuable given William Saliba's absence for the first few months of the season and Jurrien Timber's injury recovery.
BBC Sport reports Liverpool have an option to match any offer for Quansah as part of the deal that took him to Leverkusen for an initial £30m, but they have no intention of activating it. The Guardian states Leverkusen will demand at least £43m. Arsenal are also linked with Ezri Konsa, but Aston Villa's £60m valuation is considerably higher than what the Gunners are willing to pay, potentially making Quansah an alternative.
