A £15 mascara from P. Louise has proven so effective that it convinced friends the wearer had undergone a professional lash lift. Nina Crighton, Senior Fashion and Beauty Affiliates Writer, tested the Cry Baby Conditioning Daily Mascara and reported that her lashes appeared dramatically separated, with zero clumps and impressive length.
Natural Look Achieved With Affordable Mascara
Crighton, who prefers a natural makeup look for daily wear, decided to try the mascara after missing her bi-monthly lash lift appointment. She applied one thin coat, allowed it to dry for a few seconds, then added a second coat to prevent weighing down the lashes. The result was so striking that multiple people asked if she had just had her lashes done, and a friend inquired, "Are they your natural lashes?"
The mascara, which costs £15, is described as less harsh than typical black formulas and suitable for everyday activities like office work or the gym. Crighton noted that she had previously enjoyed P. Louise lip conditioners for their buttery soft feel, but the mascara exceeded expectations.
Not for Dramatic Volume Seekers
While the Cry Baby Conditioning Daily Mascara excels at creating a natural, lifted look, it may not satisfy those seeking dramatic volume. Crighton recommends the Charlotte Tilbury Exagger-eyes mascara (£28) or the Benefit They're Real! Beyond mascara (currently on sale for £21) for thicker, more volumizing results.
P. Louise Opens £6.7m Beauty Destination
P. Louise recently opened a £6.7m beauty 'Disneyland' called 'P. Louise City' inside Manchester's Trafford Palazzo. Spanning two floors and 19,000 sq ft, the space combines shopping, entertainment, and education. Crighton visited before the July 5 grand opening and described pink castle facades, a massive beauty vault, a P. Louise supermarket, 'petrol station', hair salon, 'movie theatre', and 'florist'.
The store features makeup artists, entertainers, and a dermatologist inside a 'makeup medic' for skincare needs. Shoppers can explore stands, enjoy coffee or food, and even create their own lip gloss and face wash. Upstairs, private party spaces are available for booking via the P. Louise website, and a restaurant is set to open later in July. The grand opening saw queues snaking around Trafford Palazzo, located next to the Trafford Centre and connected by a pedestrian bridge, approximately a 50-minute drive from Liverpool via the M62.
