Tottenham are targeting Crystal Palace right-back Daniel Munoz as a replacement for Djed Spence, who is set to join Inter Milan, according to reports.
The 26-year-old Spence has agreed a £30million move to the Italian giants after four years in north London, during which he made 85 appearances and won the Europa League. Despite his impressive performances at the World Cup, Spurs opted to cash in on the England star, with the transfer expected to be announced imminently. Spence posted a goodbye message to Tottenham fans on social media.
Spence departure leaves Spurs short
Spence's exit leaves manager Roberto De Zerbi with limited right-back options, as Pedro Porro is the only natural player in that position. Young midfielder Archie Gray can play there, but the situation is far from ideal, which may prompt Tottenham to enter the transfer market before deadline day.
Munoz's Premier League pedigree
According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham are among the clubs interested in Daniel Munoz. The 30-year-old has been one of the best right-backs in the Premier League since joining Crystal Palace in 2024, recording 27 goal contributions in 108 appearances. He was named player of the match in the 2025 FA Cup final when the Eagles beat Manchester City and played a key role in the Community Shield and Conference League triumphs last season. Munoz also starred for Colombia at the World Cup this summer, scoring twice and conceding just one goal in five games.
Palace valuation and interest
Munoz has two years left on his contract, and while Palace would likely not want to lose him, reports suggest they value him at upwards of £20m. Munoz has previously shared his dream of playing for a club like Manchester United, but it remains to be seen whether he would sacrifice Europa League football at Palace for no European competition at Spurs. Everton are also said to be interested and may make an offer if the Eagles indicate they are open to a sale. Relations between the clubs are good following the swap deal involving Brennan Johnson and Dwight McNeil. However, Everton have reservations given Munoz predominantly plays as a wingback rather than the orthodox full-back that David Moyes wants to sign.
