Tesco is doubling the advance booking window for its online grocery service from four weeks to eight weeks over the summer, benefiting millions of customers. The change, announced on July 9, 2026, aims to help shoppers plan ahead during one of the busiest periods of the year.
Extended Booking Window Details
Priority customers will be able to book delivery and Click+Collect slots from July 14, while general booking opens to all customers from July 21. The new eight-week window applies to both Home Delivery and Click+Collect services. Tesco says this will help customers prepare for holidays, BBQs, celebrations, and other summer events.
More than 1.1 million online grocery orders are placed with Tesco every week across the UK. The extended window is designed to support shoppers during the school holidays and ahead of the August bank holiday.
Same-Day and Rapid Delivery Options
Tesco is also expanding its same-day grocery options over the summer. Same-day Home Delivery and Click+Collect will be available at no extra cost from selected stores until September 6, subject to availability. Customers needing groceries at short notice can use Tesco's Whoosh delivery service, which can bring items in as little as 20 minutes.
Additional Slots in Holiday Hotspots
The retailer is adding extra Click+Collect slots at stores close to popular UK holiday destinations. Tesco says this will make it easier for people to pick up groceries on their way to holiday accommodation.
Tesco Online Director Rob Graham said: "Summer is one of the busiest times of the year for families and households. These changes will give customers more flexibility, while increasing same-day delivery coverage and Click+Collect availability in holiday hotspots."
