Viral jacket potato brand SpudBros will make a second return to the Trafford Centre this summer, bosses have confirmed, after huge queues at their first week-long pop-up. The SpudBros tram caused a frenzy when it landed outside the shopping mall during the first week of the school summer holidays, with hungry punters waiting in long lines for the loaded potatoes that have become a social media phenomenon.
Return dates and times
The brothers behind the brand announced their return to their millions of followers on Instagram and TikTok on Monday night, citing the "overwhelming success" of their first Trafford Centre residency. The SpudBros tram will be back outside The Great Hall from Monday August 24 to Saturday August 29, opening daily from 12pm to 8pm. Visitors should go prepared for a queue, considering what happened last time.
Jacob Nelson, co-founder of SpudBros, said: "The response to our first week at Trafford Centre was incredible, so we couldn't be more excited to return. Manchester has always shown us so much support online and it was amazing to finally bring SpudBros to the city."
Popular addition to summer programme
The return follows huge demand from visitors after the brand's debut Trafford Centre pop-up proved a major success, with thousands of shoppers stopping by to experience the viral food sensation. Returning as part of Trafford Centre's summer programme, the pop-up is located right next to the popular summer fair continuing throughout the holidays.
Simon Layton, centre director at Trafford Centre, said: "SpudBros was a fantastic addition to our summer line-up and proved hugely popular with our visitors, so we're delighted to welcome the team back for a second pop-up."
From family tradition to digital phenomenon
SpudBros' journey began in 1955 when a hot potato cart first opened on Preston's Flag Market. Decades later, Jacob and Harley Nelson transformed the family tradition into one of the UK's most recognisable food brands. With more than 5 million TikTok followers, 223 million likes, 1.49 million YouTube subscribers and 1.2 million Instagram followers, SpudBros has built one of the largest digital food communities in the country.
In recent times they've announced rapid expansion plans with 30 SpudBros Express stores at EG petrol stations across the UK being rolled out across 2026. The SpudBros pop-up will be outside The Great Hall from Monday August 24 - Saturday August 29, from 12noon to 8pm daily.
