Skechers trainers praised as 'walking on clouds' cut from £79 to £35
Skechers 'walking on clouds' trainers cut from £79 to £35

Skechers Women's Uno Stand On Air Sneakers, which more than 60,000 people have purchased from Amazon, have been reduced by 56% to £34.99 from a full price of £79.

The black trainers have been praised by health workers, teachers and retail staff, with many saying the shoes can be worn all day without any foot pain or aches. They are available in UK sizes two to seven, with a wide fit option also offered.

Design and comfort features

Designed with a memory foam sole, the trainers deliver a lightweight sensation through their 'Skech-Air' air-cushioning midsole, which some customers have compared to 'walking on clouds'. The design includes perforation accents on the front panel and collar for a cooling effect, while the lace-up fastening is described as robust and supportive.

Featuring a black design with a white sole and matching black laces, the trainers are understated yet smart enough for work or casual days off.

Customer reviews

The trainers provide support, a crucial consideration for one NHS worker who wrote: "Working in the NHS on night shift so these shoes are my favourite! Shoes are so soft and fit ideally. Ordered size 5 and it's comfortable on my feets very good material, waterproof and absolutely great value for money! 100/10."

A second person explained the sizing: "Really love the look of these shoes, they feel like walking on clouds, they do run smaller I think given the extra padding under foot, I would size up if I was able to but didn't have in stock, so I went with my regular size and it's still very comfortable when walking."

Someone else wrote: "These shoes are very comfortable, as a HCA that works long hours these feel amazing on my feet, I feel supported with the right amount of cushion to take strain off of my feet." The same reviewer added: "However, I have found that the shoes are really solid (hopefully this means they will last a good while), so much so that I find them very difficult to drive with them on."

Another buyer explained: "I bought this for my wife and she loves it. She uses it for work where she is on her feet the entire day. She says it's really comfortable and she doesn't struggle with feet, ankle and knee pain."

Alternative comfortable trainers

Shoppers might consider New Balance trainers as an alternative. The Dynasoft Nitrel v6 Gore Tex Shoes are currently on sale, reduced to £60 from £100, and feature GORE-TEX waterproof fabric to protect feet from wind, rain and water without sacrificing breathability.

FitFlop is another well-regarded brand, with the Retro-Q Trainers 'selling fast'. Priced at £80, one customer said: "Wore them straight out of the box on a city break, did 20,000 steps and they were perfect, no rubbing and no foot pain after. Have barely taken them off since and they go with everything."

Returning to the Skechers Uno trainers, a final shopper noted: "I love these Skechers Uno sneakers! They are very comfortable right out of the box and provide great support for walking or standing for long periods. The cushioning feels soft but still supportive, and the design is stylish enough to wear with casual outfits. They fit true to size and feel lightweight on my feet."
