A new 'huge' 330g Terry's Chocolate Orange bar has gone on sale at Ocado for £5.50, and it is expected to roll out in major supermarkets and retailers in September. The product was spotted by social media user 'NewFoodsUK', who shared a photo of the bar with their 370,000 Instagram followers.
Bar details and pricing
The bar is made up of individual slices of chocolate orange arranged in a grid of eight by eight, giving a larger format than the existing 90g Terry's Chocolate Orange bar. It is priced at £5.50 for 330g, which is cheaper per kilo than the standard 145g 'orange' sold for £2.50.
Fan reaction
Commenters expressed excitement, with one writing 'Love this' and another saying 'Would I eat the whole bar in one and complain that I feel sick?? YES... Will I do it anyways? ALSO YES.' Another user labelled it 'MY DREAM,' while someone else found it 'Aesthetically pleasing.'
Terry's first launched in 1932 by the Terry's Chocolate Works in York, England. Originally named the 'Dessert Chocolate Orange,' it followed the company's earlier 'Chocolate Apple' introduced in 1926. The brand has previously released spin-offs including the Chocolate Orange bar and minis.
