Sephora has officially opened its largest Scottish store at Silverburn in Glasgow, with beauty fans queuing from as early as 8am to be first through the doors.
The ribbon was cut at 10am on Thursday, August 13, kicking off a four-day celebration running until Sunday, August 16. The store spans 4,940 sq. ft, making it the biggest Sephora in the country, slightly larger than the Edinburgh branch.
New brands and technology
Dubbed a "beauty lover's playground", the store offers Sephora's signature curation of global icons, cult favourites, viral sensations and emerging names, alongside its own Sephora Collection. Brands available in the West of Scotland for the first time include rhode, Haus Labs, Makeup by Mario, Merit Beauty, Half Magic, Yepoda and Tower 28, with TikTok favourites Tatcha, Tarte, Summer Fridays and Kosas also on offer.
Homegrown heroes include VIEVE from Glaswegian makeup artist Jamie Genevieve and fellow Glasgow-founded brand BYOMA. Customers can also try Sephora UK's new Beauty Scan technology, operated by a Beauty Advisor, which assesses skin oil and hydration levels to provide tailored recommendations and foundation matches.
Celebrations and surprises
Live DJ sets and performances are part of the celebrations, with treats from Irn-Bru, Wingstop, Black Sheep Coffee, Walkers Shortbread, Hotel Chocolat and Patisserie Valerie for those queuing. Surprises from beauty names including Kayali, Gisou, Caudalie, Maria Nila and Inde Wild are also planned.
Complimentary 'Beauty Bonus Cards' will be handed out to anyone making a purchase between now and Sunday, available while stocks last. These provide an 'instant' prize win, including goodie bags, Sephora merch, complimentary makeup services, and discounts from Tower 28, Topicals, Fazit, Merit and Makeup by Mario.
Statement from Sephora and Silverburn
Sarah Boyd, Managing Director of Sephora UK, said: "The opening of our Glasgow Silverburn store is a proud milestone for Sephora UK. Following the incredible response to our Edinburgh opening, we knew beauty lovers in the west of Scotland were ready for Sephora too, and we're so excited to finally open our doors."
Diarmuid Donohoe, General Manager of Silverburn, said: "Sephora UK's arrival in Scotland is one of the biggest retail stories of the summer. Their decision to open their first Glasgow store at Silverburn reflects our position as a leading retail destination and our appeal to the most sought-after international brands."
This is the fourth and final store in the 'Sephora Summer' campaign, coming just one month after the brand's Scottish debut at Edinburgh's St James Quarter, a 4,973 sq. ft store that opened on July 9, with some queuing from 4:30am on that day.
