Cheryl made a surprise appearance on The Voice UK to assist will.i.am during the battle stages, and viewers were quick to share their excitement on social media.

As the ITV programme got underway, will.i.am told his acts that with only three progressing to the semi-final, the decision would be "tough" and that he needed help. Revealing he had "the perfect" person in mind, he said: "I've been wanting this person to be my mentor for 13 years. So with no further ado, I want to introduce you to my mentor."

Cheryl stepped out of a car as contestants erupted in screams and applause, telling them it was "so nice" to see them all. In a cutaway, the former Popstars contestant said: "I have stood in the shoes the contestants are standing in, I know what it feels like to perform in this environment. You just got to know that you're good, or you wouldn't be here."

Upcoming Series Changes

Cheryl's appearance follows the announcement that she will join The Voice as a judge in the upcoming series alongside Aitch, taking over from Sir Tom Jones, Danny Jones, and Tom Fletcher, reports the Daily Star. It marks her first major TV role since 2019, when she judged The Greatest Dancer.

Emma Willis is also departing, with Alesha Dixon and Stacey Solomon assuming presenting duties for Series 15. A description for the new series states: "These new additions will take their places alongside international superstar Kelly Rowland, who makes her highly anticipated return for a second series as a coach. They join long-standing The Voice UK legend will.i.am."
