Radley London Closes All Scottish Stores with 'Everything Must Go' Sale
Radley London Closes All Scottish Stores with Clearance Sale

Radley London has launched an 'everything must go' clearance sale across all three of its Scottish stores, as the luxury handbag chain prepares to permanently close its physical locations after nearly three decades on the high street.

The sale, offering up to 50 percent off all items including handbags, purses, luggage and accessories, comes after the brand was sold in a pre-pack deal in May. The sale transferred the intellectual property to Gordon Brothers, owners of Poundland, but did not include the company's 21 UK stores.

Closure Details and Job Losses

All 21 Radley London stores are now closing, resulting in the loss of 42 jobs. Closing-down notices have been spotted at the Livingston Designer Outlet in West Lothian, with signs reading 'closing down' and 'everything must go'. Reductions are also available at the Royal Exchange Square store in Glasgow and the Caledonia Park outlet in Gretna.

A spokesperson for Radley told the Daily Record: 'There are some truly exceptional offers available across all categories. Everything has been reduced, including new season pieces. We anticipate strong demand and expect key styles to sell through quickly; we would like to thank our loyal customers for their support over the years and invite them to shop early to avoid disappointment.'

Sale Details and Stock

Examples of discounts include a small suitcase reduced from £169 to £84.50, a medium suitcase from £179 to £89.50, and a Crawford Mews Tote from £155 to £76.50. Additional warehouse inventory is being added to stores to sell off all items. Reductions vary by location, and shoppers are advised to check their local branch for availability.

Radley London has stated it will continue to trade online and in store until further notice, with no official closure dates announced yet.

Company Background and Financial Challenges

Founded in 1998 by Lowell Harder as a Camden market stall, Radley London grew to 21 stores across the UK, known for its vibrant colors, attention to detail, and signature Scottie dog motif. The brand positioned itself in the accessible luxury market but faced significant financial challenges recently.

In the 2024/2025 financial year, the company reported a pre-tax loss of £2.2 million, with sales falling to £65.8 million from £72 million. Administrators FTI Consulting attributed the decline to 'challenging economic conditions,' including declining footfall and increased operating costs.
