Gateshead's Nate's Pizza and Sunday Dinners Shuts Down, Owner Teases Return
Nate's in Gateshead Shuts, Owner Hints at Comeback

Nate's, a small but highly regarded restaurant in Gateshead known for its pizza, pasta, and Sunday dinners, has shut down, leaving regulars disappointed. Owner Nathan Stoke, however, has hinted at big plans ahead, urging customers to 'stay tuned.'

From Leisure Centre to Windy Nook

Nathan originally launched Nate's from a hatch at Gateshead Leisure Centre, naming the business after his son. The venture gained a loyal following, leading to a move earlier this year to a unit in Windy Nook. The new location quickly became a word-of-mouth success, celebrated for its Sunday roasts, signature pizzas, meal deals like 'Netflix & Chill,' and breakfast options.

Difficult Decision to Close

Nathan announced the closure on social media, stating: 'After a lot of thought, I've made the difficult decision to close Nate's at Windy Nook. I just want to say a massive thank you to every single person who has supported Nate's, whether you've ordered food, shared a post, left a comment, or recommended us to friends and family. Every bit of support has meant the world to me.'

He cited increased rent and rising electricity and running costs as factors that made it 'impossible' to continue at the site. Despite the closure, Nathan reassured customers: 'I've got something exciting in the works, and I'll be updating everyone tomorrow, so keep an eye on the page.'

Customer Reactions

The announcement drew an outpouring of support. One regular commented: 'Aww no you will greatly missed. Your food is outstanding. All the best for the future.' Another wrote: 'Wishing you all the best mate. Your breakfast wraps will be missed! Hope your next move goes well.'

Nathan concluded: 'From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for being part of the Nate's journey. Your support has never gone unnoticed, and I hope you'll stick with me for what's coming next.'
