Marks & Spencer has launched a new Easter chocolate that fans are comparing favourably to the classic Cadbury Creme Egg. The Sunny Side Up Whips, priced at £5 for a pack of four, feature a milk chocolate shell filled with marshmallow and a zesty orange sauce, topped with a white chocolate yolk.
Social media reaction has been largely positive. On Facebook, Rachel Whitmarsh described the treats as 'elite compared to a Creme Egg', while Terri Watts called them 'absolutely delicious'. However, some critics noted the orange flavour may not appeal to everyone, with Donna Pugh stating 'nothing beats a Creme Egg'.
The product has drawn comparisons to walnut whips, with a thick chocolate exterior and marshmallow centre. A Metro.co.uk reviewer praised the 'silky delight' but cautioned about the sweetness, joking about 'teeth dissolving'. The eggs cost approximately £1.25 each, positioning them as a premium alternative.
M&S has also reintroduced other Easter favourites, including Speckled Egg Cookies at £3.25 for five and a Giant Speckled Eggs Crunchy bar for £7.50. The Speckled Eggs themselves have been hailed by customers as 'much better' than Cadbury Mini Eggs.
