Morrisons Offers Free Oranges to Children During World Cup

Morrisons has announced a new promotion offering free oranges to children during the FIFA World Cup group stages. The initiative runs from June 14 to June 27, covering match days for England and Scotland.

Children visiting Morrisons stores in England and Scotland can claim a complimentary orange on match days. The giveaway starts on June 14 for Scotland's opening fixture, with further dates on June 19 and 24. England supporters can collect oranges on June 17, 23, and 27.

The promotion builds on Morrisons' existing free fruit programme for children, which has been running since 2018. A spokesperson said the oranges are available while stocks last at Morrisons Market Street. Welsh customers can also collect free fruit as usual.

Jacob Uren, Senior Citrus Trader at Morrisons, highlighted the nostalgic link to football culture, where orange slices are traditionally served at half-time. He noted the nutritional benefits of oranges, including vitamin C, fibre, and hydration, making them a healthy alternative to sugary snacks.
