Meghan Markle's As Ever faces UK fruit spread import block
Meghan Markle's As Ever faces UK fruit spread import block

Meghan Markle has hit a bump in the road after confirming she will launch her lifestyle company, As Ever, in the UK. The Duchess of Sussex launched her company in 2025 and has since sold products ranging from fruit spreads and bottles of wine to cookie-making kits and edible flower sprinkles. Until now, the products were only available in the US, but they will soon be making the journey across the pond.

UK launch blocked by import rules

In doing so, however, Meghan has come up against a roadblock as she will not be able to sell her famous fruit spreads in the UK due to food import and export rules. According to The Sun, the UK will be the first market for the lifestyle brand outside of the native US.

As Ever will reportedly sell Meghan’s £11 tins of tea and £50 scented candles. It will also reportedly sell her £15 limited edition bookmarks.

Brand's bumpy start

While her brand has often faced widespread criticism for its high prices, her stock continues to sell out within hours of every launch. This is likely a welcome relief after As Ever got off to a bumpy start at launch in March 2025.

The company was initially named American Riviera Orchard, but Meghan ran into problems when her trademark application was denied by the US Patent and Trademark Office due to filing issues.

Product range and new partnership

Meghan Markle currently sells a strawberry spread, an orange marmalade and a raspberry spread. Each item is also available in a combined gift box for $42 (£32), and each is also sold individually with keepsake packaging for $15 (£11).

The company also stocks various honeys, including wildflower, orange blossom and sage varieties. It is unknown whether the Duchess will be selling her jars of honey in the UK or whether they are subject to the same trade and import rules.

The news of Meghan's plans to sell her products in the UK comes after she partnered with Moms Offering More, a community-based initiative, to produce a jumper in honour of the International Day of the Girl. The sweatshirt is limited-edition and comes in cream with chocolate-brown embroidery. 100% of the profits go back to supporting mums and families - 50% to MOM and 50% to Alliance of Moms, a non-profit organisation founded by one of Meghan’s closest friends.
