McDonald's UK has confirmed that two fan-favourite menu items, the Chicken Legend and Breakfast Bagels, will return in January 2025, according to a social media announcement. The news was shared by the account UK Newest Foods on Instagram, which stated: "Chicken Legend and Breakfast Bagels are returning to McDonald’s UK in January."
Returning Favourites
The Chicken Legend, which has been off menus since 2022, was replaced by the popular McCrispy. The item features fried chicken breast topped with lettuce and mayonnaise in a ciabatta roll, with previous versions offering barbecue or spicy tomato sauce options. Breakfast Bagels, last seen in 2020, include a pork sausage patty, a folded egg, and two slices of American cheese inside a toasted bagel.
Fans have expressed excitement over the news on social media. One commenter wrote: "At last Chicken Legend is coming back," while another added: "They should never have taken away the breakfast bagel." A third person commented: "What the people have been BEGGING for." Others were more cautious, with one user saying: "I require proof before getting excited."
Context and Recent Menu Changes
The announcement follows the current World Heist Menu, which features items like Spain's McExtreme burger and Chicken McWings from China. That promotion is set to end on November 16, with the new items arriving in the new year. Earlier in August, McDonald's brought back Mini Hash Browns, a sharing box of 15, which were first introduced in 2024 and quickly removed, prompting customer requests for their return.
