McDonald's is offering free food in Sunderland today to celebrate England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford becoming the Three Lions' most-capped player in Men's FIFA World Cup history. The promotion runs from 5pm to 6pm at two participating restaurants in Pickford's hometown, just ahead of England's semi-final clash with Argentina.
Free 'Saved Menu' Items in Sunderland
The fast food chain has renamed its Saver Menu the 'Saved Menu' at the Washington locations, paying tribute to Pickford's record-breaking achievement. Fans visiting The Galleries Shopping Centre or The Peel Centre can claim free items including the Double Cheeseburger (typically £2.49), Milkshakes (£2.19), and Mini McFlurries in Oreo or Smarties flavours (£1.59). Limited-edition cold cups featuring Pickford's penalty prediction 'cheat sheet' stickers are also available.
Nationwide Big Mac Deal
For fans outside Sunderland, McDonald's is offering buy one get one free on all Big Macs from 5pm today. This deal is available across the UK, ensuring supporters nationwide can enjoy a bargain while watching the match.

Other McDonald's Menu Updates
In addition to the promotional deals, McDonald's has announced the return of the Cornetto McFlurry after 17 years. The dessert features soft serve ice cream with chocolate or strawberry sauce and pieces of Cornetto cone. The chain is also introducing three new dipping sauces: Hot Honey, Korean BBQ, and Ranch. New menu items include the Hot Honey Sausage and Egg McMuffin and the Hot Honey McCrispy sandwich.
