L.K. Bennett Confirms Comeback After Closing All Stores

Luxury fashion chain L.K. Bennett has announced its comeback just months after closing all stores and entering administration. The womenswear label, which counts the Princess of Wales as a fan, has reinstated its online presence this week, confirming it has returned with a “renewed vision.”

Statement Confirms New Chapter

A statement on the L.K. Bennett website reads: “Our story continues. Since 1990, L.K. Bennett has believed in crafting beautiful pieces for women to love, wear and enjoy every single day.”

“While times change, our ethos has stayed the same. Our founding principle of attainable luxury continues today as L.K. Bennett steps into an exciting new chapter.”

“With a renewed vision, fresh energy and plenty more to come, we’re bringing everything you’ve always loved about L.K. Bennett into what comes next. We look forward to sharing it with you.”

Shoppers React with Excitement

The statement confirms a full website and new collection will be “coming soon.” It is currently unclear whether the label will return with physical stores or only as an online retailer.

Fashion fans have shared their excitement on the brand’s official Instagram account. One wrote: “Best news ever.” Another said: “Thank goodness! Been customer since 2010 and still have every piece I bought, dresses, jackets and shoes. Classic styling that stands the test of time.” A third commented: “I hoped LK Bennett would return.”

History and Administration

Established in 1990 by founder Linda Bennett, L.K. Bennett began in South West, Wimbledon, and became famed for its signature shoe collections and luxury womenswear that attracted royal attention, particularly from Kate Middleton.

The retailer first faced insolvency in 2019, before officially entering administration for a second time in January 2026, appointing advisers at Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) as administrators. The business was eventually bought by Gordon Brothers, owners of Poundland, in a rescue deal that included only the intellectual property, not its physical presence.

This led to the closure of L.K. Bennett’s remaining nine physical stores and 13 concessions, including its only presence in Scotland at the John Lewis store in Edinburgh’s Westfield St. James Quarter. The comeback follows other retail returns, with 57 Brewers Fayre and Beefeater chains set to return next month, and fashion brand Jigsaw reopening in Glasgow in July after six years.
