Apple's first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, is now available for pre-order, with Sky Mobile offering what it calls the 'lowest price' compared to other providers. Customers can save up to £264 over a 24-month contract when combining the device with a Sky data plan.
Pre-orders opened on Friday, October 16, with prices starting at £47 per month when spreading the cost at Sky Mobile. The iPhone Duo is described as 'the most transformational change' to the iPhone since the original model launched.
Data Plan Discounts
The savings are available when pairing the iPhone Duo with a Sky data plan, starting from 1GB for £1 (was £8). Sky has also reduced prices across its full SIM range, including 5GB for £6 (was £13), 25GB for £10 (was £17), and 75GB for £14 (was £25). Heavier users can secure unlimited data for £21 (was £28).
The 75GB option provides a £264 saving over the 24-month contract. The iPhone Duo is available in star white and night sky colours, with storage options ranging from 256GB to 2TB.
Availability and Alternatives
Stock is not expected to ship until January 2027. Sky's device plan spans 48 months and carries a £12 upfront charge. For those who prefer to buy the phone outright, Amazon is offering the iPhone Duo at prices ranging from £1,999 to £3,199.
Alternatively, EE is offering the iPhone Duo for as low as £44.57 per month, with data options available from £29 a month. For shoppers not sold on Apple's offering, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 is available on Amazon for £1,769, offering 512GB of storage and a more square design.
Design and Features
John Ternus, Apple's CEO, said: "iPhone Duo is the most transformational change to iPhone since the original. With an entirely new design and intuitive experiences, it shows what's possible when hardware and software are engineered together and redefines what it means to use a foldable phone."
He added: "With the largest display ever on iPhone that still fits easily in your pocket, combined with the power of A20 Pro, iPhone Duo helps you stay more immersed and productive wherever you go, whether you're enjoying content, multitasking across apps, or gaming."
The iPhone Duo features a foldable mechanism revealing a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR display with a matte surface to hide creases from the hinge and reduce glare. It does not include Face ID, instead using Touch ID integrated into the side button for security.
