The ninth-generation Honda Civic comes in two variants: a naturally aspirated 1.8-litre petrol model and a 1.6-litre diesel option. Both are known for their durability, with owners easily surpassing 100,000 miles without major issues.
Reliability Rating of 96.1%
WhatCar? has awarded the Honda Civic a reliability rating of 96.1%. In their 2023 used car reliability survey, covering cars aged six to 20 years, the Civic ranked as one of the best performers. It came second place for petrol-powered models and fourth position for diesels. WhatCar? previously stated they “wouldn’t hesitate buying a model that is older” provided it has a full service history and is in good condition.
