Coronation Street fans are convinced they have uncovered Kit Green's secret twin, with many pointing to Kirk Sutherland as the likely brother. Kit (Jacob Roberts) first appeared in 2024 as Bernie Winter's (Jane Hazlegrove) estranged son, and quickly became involved in major storylines, from questionable dealings at work to the discovery of his son Brody (Ryan Mulvey).
Recently, Kit was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, which had spread to his lymph nodes, in a heartbreaking new storyline. The diagnosis followed the death of Kit's great-aunt, Celeste (Frances Barber), who revealed before her death that the family may carry the familial BRCA gene, which significantly raises the lifetime risk of certain cancers.
Fans Spot Twin Twist
On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one viewer suggested: "Omg what a change Kit could be Kirk's twin." Another added: "They do look alike," while a third wrote: "Wouldn't put it past the writers at this point."
The speculation comes as the show's production team works closely with Macmillan Cancer Support and Breast Cancer Now to accurately portray Kit's cancer and raise awareness of the illness among men.
Jacob Roberts on the Storyline
Speaking about the breast cancer storyline, Jacob Roberts said: "I genuinely didn't know that men could get breast cancer and I felt, to make it authentic, that Kit shouldn't know that men can get breast cancer either."
He added: "Speaking to the charities and male survivors has been really insightful, lots of men don't know they can get this and for Kit it's that utter disbelief of how can this be? Not only for his age, but how can I have this as a bloke and who else in the family could be affected."
