Corrie fans 'work out' Kit Green's secret twin on cobbles

Coronation Street viewers are convinced they have worked out Kit Green's secret twin on the programme, and they believe the character is already living on the cobbles.

Kit (Jacob Roberts) arrived in 2024 and turned up as Bernie Winter's (Jane Hazlegrove) long-lost son. The police officer wasted little time becoming embroiled in several major storylines on the enduring show, from engaging in questionable conduct at the station to the startling revelation about his son Brody (Ryan Mulvey).

Kit's recent storylines

Particularly of late, in September, Kit received a devastating stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis, which had advanced to his lymph nodes, in a poignant new storyline. The diagnosis also followed the passing of Kit's great-aunt, Celeste (Frances Barber). Prior to her death, she informed the family that they might carry the hereditary BRCA gene.

Possessing a hereditary BRCA (Breast Cancer) gene mutation involves inheriting a damaging alteration in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes from a parent, which substantially increases your lifetime chance of developing particular cancers, reports the Daily Star.

Fans' twin theory

The Coronation Street production team are collaborating closely with Macmillan Cancer Support and Breast Cancer Now to faithfully depict Kit's cancer while highlighting awareness of the genuine dangers of the disease among men.

Now, Coronation Street enthusiasts are adamant Kit is heading for a surprising twin storyline development. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one viewer proposed Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment): "Omg what a change Kit could be Kirk's twin." Another viewer chimed in with: "They do look alike", while a third wrote: "Wouldn't put it past the writers at this point."

Meanwhile, discussing Kit's breast cancer storyline, Jacob Roberts, who portrays Kit, revealed: "I genuinely didn't know that men could get breast cancer and I felt, to make it authentic, that Kit shouldn't know that men can get breast cancer either."

He added: "Speaking to the charities and male survivors has been really insightful, lots of men don't know they can get this and for Kit it's that utter disbelief of how can this be? Not only for his age, but how can I have this as a bloke and who else in the family could be affected."

Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
