Home Bargains is offering a bulk box of Cadbury White Chocolate Creme Eggs for £23.48, working out at just 49p per egg. This significantly undercuts prices at major supermarkets such as Asda (70p), Tesco (85p, or 50p with Clubcard), Sainsbury's (85p), and Morrisons (£1).
The box contains 48 individually wrapped eggs, making it an affordable option for Easter, which falls on April 5 this year. In comparison, the same bulk box on Cadbury's website costs £47.52 (99p per egg) and is currently out of stock.
Home Bargains describes the treats as a "deliciously guilt-free indulgence" made with sustainably sourced cocoa. However, each 40g egg contains 27g of sugar (over six teaspoons) and 6.1g of fat, exceeding daily recommended intakes if consumed in excess.
The NHS advises limiting free sugars to no more than 30g per day for adults, 24g for children aged 7-10, and 19g for those aged 4-6. High sugar intake can lead to weight gain, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and tooth decay.
