Grandparents Praise Yoto Player as 'Best Gift' for Grandkids

Grandparents are raving about the Yoto audio player as the 'best gift' for their grandchildren, with a retired teacher praising its screen-free design for developing listening and reading skills. The children's audio brand has launched its latest devices, the Yoto Player 4th Gen (£119.99) and Yoto Mini 4th Gen (£89.99), which allow children to listen to stories, music, and podcasts independently.

Screen-Free Entertainment for Kids

The Yoto Player is a screen-free, interactive audio device that lets children play audiobooks, music, and podcasts independently, as well as kid-friendly radio stations and even sleep sounds. The new 4th Gen models build on the original with more storage, a faster processor, and a brand new design.

A key new feature is the Green Button - once set up in the Yoto App, kids can twist, press, and play their favourite titles without having to insert a Yoto Card. Playlists can be created by adults on the Yoto App with their favourite titles and free content from their library, from soundscapes to toothbrush timers.

Storage and Durability

Both the Yoto Player and Yoto Mini 4th Gen have 64GB of storage, which according to Yoto, equates to more than 1,000 hours of audio, including offline listening. A new IP67 splash and dust resistant design withstands adventures whether travelling or playing at home, with the Yoto Mini 4th Gen being the more portable option for families always on the go.

The Yoto Player 4th Gen has stereo sound, a redesigned full-panel night light, and features for morning and bedtime routines. The content library spans over one thousand titles from publishers including Universal Music Group, Penguin Random House, Roald Dahl Story Company, the BBC, and Mattel alongside Yoto's own award-winning Yoto Originals. Languages include English, Spanish, and French.

Grandparents' and Teachers' Reviews

On Trust Pilot, Yoto has scored 4.4 by more than 46,000 customers. While there are no specific 4th Gen reviews, people have left glowing feedback for their Yoto audio player, in particular grandparents. One person said: "Online ordering is very simple. The Yoto mini was bought for our 5 year old granddaughter last year. She absolutely loves it. It's brilliant for occupying her on flights and car journeys. Good selection of discs give you new material. Highly recommend."

Someone else said it was 'the best gift I got for my grandchild' and another buyer shared their granddaughter 'gave it 5 stars'. Delivery time is a factor to consider - those getting one for a gift may want to order ahead of time. Feedback left reads: "I love your products Yoto, I just wish the shipping was speedier."

A further customer commented: "I bought a Yoto player, case and headphones for my granddaughter for her 5th birthday. Her mum loves it because it's less technology and more assisted reading. We had so much fun recording her favourite books as well. Plus, it's getting a bit of knocking around by the 2 year old and surviving it well."

A retired educator explained: "This is the 3rd Yoto player I have bought for a grandchild as well as recommending this to other parents, grandparents. As a retired teacher your non screen feature is approved by my daughter in law as well as other applications, it develops listening skills, imagination, as well as encourages reading! I highly recommend your product."
