Cat Deeley's £13 eye cream that 'removes bags' is 55% off

TV presenter Cat Deeley swears by a 'magic' eye cream for banishing under-eye bags, and it's now 55% off on Amazon. The popular L'Oreal Paris Eye Bag Eraser can currently be bought for £13.49, reduced from its full price of £29.99.

What Cat Deeley says about the product

L'Oreal Paris Ambassador Cat talked about the product in an interview with Grazia magazine, saying: “It literally just removes the bags from under my eyes. I don't know how it does it, whether it's magic or voodoo or a hope and a prayer. And it's great if I've had my make-up on since six o'clock in the morning, and then I've got to go to an event in the evening, it just freshens me up.”

The eye bag treatment comes in a 10ml bottle and is said to depuff and smooth eye bags in just 15 minutes. According to the description, it can immediately reduce the appearance of under eye wrinkles, bags, puffiness, lack of firmness and crepey skin.

How the product works

The formula uses innovative technology that transforms the product into an 'invisible film that compresses, tightens and blurs eye bags on application'. For best results, shoppers are advised to apply a half pea-sized amount to the under eye area using a clean and dry finger.

Users can then gently tap the product from the inner to the outer corner of the eye, wait 15 minutes and avoid making facial expressions until it fully dries. At night time, the can be removed with a waterproof remover.

Alternative products and customer reviews

An alternative option to this is the Peter Thomas Roth Instant Firmx Temporary Eye Tightener Easy Wear Formula for £39 from LookFantastic. This one is described as an eye tightening formula, that is said to reduce signs of ageing. It stands out due to its sheer tinted texture, which is said to blend easily onto all skin types.

Holland and Barrett also has the MediPeel Peptide 9 Hyaluronic Volumy Eye Cream for £19.99. This product uses a combination of nine types of peptides and hyaluronic acid to hydrate the under-eye area, working to 'restore youthful volume'.

However, the L'Oreal Paris Eye Bag Eraser has been rated a 3.8 out of five stars from over 1,000 reviews on Amazon. One person said: “Wow. This is amazing. It’s not cheap as it's a small tube but it is well worth it. I saw a difference in a few minutes. I could feel it working too. Just a tiny amount under my eye. Pat it in gently and wait for the results. Skin feels tighter and I feel years younger. This dried in under a minute. I will definitely buy again and I will be trying the other L'Orèal Revitalift products. Fine lines have shrunk.”

Another person added: “I was surprised that this actually made a noticeable difference. I often have under eye bags as I don't sleep very well and this gives my eye area a much smoother, more refreshed look within about 15 minutes. The trick is definitely to follow the instructions, apply a very thin layer and let it dry completely without touching it. Once I started doing that, the results were much better. It creates a subtle tightening effect that makes my under eye bags look less obvious and the effect lasts for most of the day. I also like that the tube is small but you only need the tiniest amount so it should last quite a while. Very useful for when I want to look a bit more awake.”

A third customer wrote: “Absolutely brilliant. A little goes a very long way, and should last for ages. I put it on first thing in the morning and it lasts all day even into the evening.”

Some did remove a star, with one person saying: “Used as directed, feels good on skin and dries well, non sticky, tube easy to apply on finger tip - but it’s not worth all the hype.” Another wrote: “The cream was easily absorbed, l did not find the effectiveness that great.”
