Bride Buys Wedding Dress for £15 on Shein

Tyler Griffith, a 25-year-old from Manchester, has revealed how she purchased her stunning wedding dress from Shein for just £15 and spent a total of £1,700 on her entire wedding. The bride said she felt the most beautiful she had ever felt while wearing the gown, and none of her guests could tell that the dress cost less than £20.

Budget-Friendly Wedding

Tyler married her husband Cameron Griffith, 24, in May after the couple decided to keep wedding costs to a minimum. Instead of visiting a bridal boutique, Tyler searched online and bought a mermaid-style gown from Shein for £15. She told creatorzine.com: "On my wedding day, I felt the most beautiful I’ve ever felt in my life. My first reaction when I saw it and tried it on was ‘wow’. I was so shocked and surprised by the quality and how beautiful it looked."

Guests Shocked by Dress Origin

None of the guests suspected the dress came from Shein. Tyler said: "None of my guests thought it was from Shein and were very shocked when I told them. I feel I saved hundreds, if not thousands, of pounds." She initially had concerns about quality but was impressed when the dress arrived. The dress required no alterations, except for removing some frilled straps.

Love Story and Engagement

Tyler and Cameron met through a mutual friend online while both were in college. Cameron proposed at Red Wharf Bay on Anglesey, Tyler’s favourite beach, in July of the previous year. Tyler said: "I felt very emotional and immediately started crying with happiness. We did start planning the wedding pretty much straight away because we were both so excited."

Cost Breakdown and Advice

The couple opted for a navy blue colour scheme and married in their local church, with the entire wedding costing around £1,700. Although Tyler tried on other dresses, she kept returning to the £15 gown. She recommends buying online: "I would definitely recommend buying online, especially if you know what you want and if not, you can always sell it on or send it back." She added: "I do feel wedding dresses are overpriced and that there is nothing wrong with going elsewhere. For me, it was about the day more than anything else. It definitely did allow us to spend more elsewhere. But our entire wedding was budget-friendly, with the majority of our stuff being from Shein or Vinted."
