B&M is offering a £15 footstool with hidden storage that bears a striking resemblance to a £99 alternative from Dunelm, giving shoppers a chance to save £84 on a practical piece of furniture.
The Duggie Footstool with Fabric Top is priced at £15 in most B&M stores. The discount chain describes the piece as a "clever" two-in-one item that doubles as extra storage, with "hidden" space for everyday clutter.
A "warm and natural look" for under £20
B&M said of the footstool: "The oak effect finish base brings a warm, natural look, while the soft taupe fabric top adds comfort and style. Simply lift the lid to reveal handy storage space inside - ideal for tucking away blankets, magazines, toys, or remote controls."
The item is available in most stores for under £20, though customers will need to check whether their local branch has stock, as products cannot be bought online. Not all B&M stores sell furniture, with smaller branches typically not offering this service.
Similar design to Dunelm's £99 alternative
The footstool is "remarkably similar" to the Yard Hadden Footstool from Dunelm, which has the exact same dimensions (38cm wide, tall and deep) but costs almost £100, according to the Mirror.
Dunelm describes its version as having "cleverly designed" storage concealed beneath its fabric-topped seat. The retailer adds: "The durable wooden frame is finished in a soft eucalyptus tone, while the fabric-topped seat lifts to reveal a discreet storage compartment – perfect for tucking away blankets, toys, or everyday clutter."

B&M shoppers can also pick up the XL Textured Fabric Ottoman, priced at £25 in stores across the UK. Each unit comes with a lift-up lid for "easy access to storage inside".
Its cushioned top could double up as additional seating in spaces where there isn't room for another chair or sofa. B&M advises consulting the specific packaging or assembly manual for the recommended weight limit.
