B&M shoppers have expressed outrage after spotting Christmas advent calendars on shelves this summer, with many taking to social media to complain that the festive items are being sold too early. The calendars, including Dairy Milk Lotus Biscoff, Kinder Bueno, and Guylian varieties, were shared on the Facebook page Newfoodsuk.
One shopper, Summer Grace, commented: 'It's too early.' Another, Tracy Bartlett, wrote: 'Can't we just enjoy summer, we'll have months of this to come.' Amy Cooper Dowling added: 'This shouldn't be allowed - it's August!'
However, not all shoppers were angered. Leah McKee said: 'Best believe I’ll be picking one of them up.' The early arrival of Christmas treats is not unique to B&M, as Asda and Morrisons faced similar criticism last month. Asda defended the practice, stating it helps shoppers 'spread the cost of Christmas'.
