Asda is selling a £14 bunny teddy that shoppers say is 'so similar' to the £70 Jellycat version, prompting a rush to buy before it sells out. The supermarket's plush toy offers a £56 saving compared to the popular Jellycat bunnies, which are known for their ultra-soft fabrics and floppy, huggable designs.
TikTok user Jess, who posts as @mumlife.withjess, shared her discovery in a video captioned: "Jellycat mums, run to Asda! Stop! This giant Bambi print bunny is everything! The softest, cutest little find, and such a bargain. Jellycat vibes without the Jellycat price tag. Asda, you've absolutely smashed it." In the video, she said she didn't think she was "going to find it," but then managed when walking into her local store. "Oh my God, I found it," she gushed, as she picked one up. A pink version was also available alongside it.
Resellers Drive Up Prices
However, some people have pointed out that "resellers are ruining everything," as the bunnies are already being listed on Vinted for more than double the original price. One seller listed the bunny for £35, making a £21 profit from a buyer desperate to get hold of it. Other listings have appeared at £50 and £100, which has sparked outrage among shoppers.
Asda also offers medium-sized versions of the bunny for £6, providing a smaller and cheaper gift option for those who prefer not to spend the full £14.
Shoppers Share Their Finds
In the comments of Jess's video, shoppers shared their own successful hunts, with one writing: "I literally just managed to find one," after visiting several shops. Another mum commented: "She really is worth the hunt, she's stunning."
Given the high demand and limited availability, anyone hoping to buy the bunny at its £14 price will need to act quickly and get lucky, as stock is expected to sell out fast.
