Argos has launched a new sale offering discounts of up to 10 percent on Roku streaming devices, making them more affordable than Amazon's Fire TV Sticks. The cheapest option, the entry-level Roku HD Streaming Stick, is now priced at £24.99, down from £29.99.
What's in the Argos Roku Deal?
The sale covers all of Roku's TV streaming sticks, including HD and 4K models. The Roku HD Streaming Stick features a new slimline design and provides access to popular premium streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV, and Prime Video. It also includes free content through the exclusive Roku Channel, which offers iconic shows, free films, and originals.
For those with 4K TVs, Argos has deals on the Roku Stick 4K and the Roku 4K Streaming Stick Plus. The Roku 4K Streaming Stick Plus is now £34.99, saving £5, while the Roku Streaming Stick 4K is £44.99, also saving £5.
How It Compares to Fire TV Stick
Amazon is currently not offering any deals on its Fire TV Stick devices. The entry-level HD Fire TV Stick is priced at £39.99, which is £15 more than the Roku HD stick at Argos. A 4K Fire TV Stick costs at least £49.99, again £15 more than the Roku 4K sticks at Argos.
Argos says these Roku deals are "trending," indicating they are proving popular with shoppers.
What to Consider
Amazon does have regular sales on its own devices, so those who prefer a Fire TV Stick might want to wait for a price drop. Amazon's price history shows the HD Fire Stick has fallen to as low as £16 in the past, with good opportunities during Prime Day, Black Friday, and Christmas discounts.
