Aldi confirms Kevin the Carrot engagement ring won't return for Christmas 2026
Aldi's Kevin the Carrot ring won't return for Christmas 2026

Aldi has confirmed that its limited-edition 'Carrot' gold engagement rings will not be returning for Christmas 2026. Instead, something else will take their place as part of the supermarket's 2026 festive launch.

The rings were first released as part of Aldi's 2025 Christmas offerings, celebrating a decade of its mascot, Kevin the Carrot, and his on-screen proposal to girlfriend, Katie. Crafted in partnership with British jeweller Jessica Flinn Fine Jewellery, each ring featured a carrot-shaped orange cubic zirconia, flanked by two marquise peridot accents, a tribute to Kevin's leafy top.

No return for the 'Carrot' ring

As with many Aldi SpecialBuys, once they are gone, they are gone for good. The confirmation comes after Aldi unveiled its 2026 festive sandwich line-up, bringing back customer favourites alongside new seasonal options with prices starting at £1.99. The range rolls out in UK stores starting October 14 and will remain available throughout the Christmas period while stocks last.

Leading the new additions is the Aldi Specially Selected Honey Roast Gammon & Christmas Slaw Bloomer, priced at £2.79 for 262g. Launching on November 26, this sandwich pairs Wiltshire gammon with a spiced carrot-and-parsnip slaw and hot honey mayonnaise.

New festive sandwich range

Meat-free shoppers can opt for the new Festive Falafel Wrap at £2.29 for 214g, which arrives on October 21 and features a spiced parsnip fritter, crispy onions, sage-and-onion mayonnaise, sultanas, and shredded red cabbage. For warm lunchtime options, Aldi is introducing the Smoked Chicken & Trimmings Toastie for £1.99 for 205g, arriving November 26 with smoked chicken, a cranberry-and-bacon mix, and melted béchamel.

The Turkey Feast Wrap, available from November 5 at £2.29 for 222g, combines butter-basted shredded turkey, Lincolnshire sausages, cranberry chutney, and crispy onion mayonnaise. Several traditional options return to shelves starting October 14.

Returning favourites and festive line-up

The Pigs in Blankets Sandwich offers Lincolnshire sausages and smoked bacon between sliced bread for £1.99 for 190g. The classic Turkey Feast Sandwich costs £2.49 for 230g and contains British turkey breast, beechwood-smoked bacon, and cranberry sauce. Also featured in the returning range at £2.49 each are the Brie & Cranberry Sandwich at 190g with spinach and cranberry chutney, and the Smoked Salmon Cream Cheese Sandwich at 176g, featuring smoked salmon and lemon-pepper soft cheese.

Aldi has also officially unveiled a first look at its 2026 Christmas food line-up following its title win as Christmas Retailer of the Year at the Quality Food Awards. The upcoming range spans show stopping main courses, indulgent party snacks, meat-free options, cheeses, desserts, and festive drinks designed for effortless holiday hosting.

For the main feast, the supermarket is bringing back its award-winning Specially Selected East Anglian Fresh Whole Goose alongside the dry-hung Specially Selected Hand Finished British Whole Turkey, both arriving in stores on December 19. Other Christmas dinner items will be available on various dates in December and at the end of November.
