Aldi is set to open more than 60 new stores by the end of 2027, with 24 openings planned before Christmas 2026 and a further 40 stores in 2027. The supermarket chain, which currently operates 1,092 stores, has confirmed locations for 38 of the 64 planned openings so far.
Confirmed locations before end of 2026
New Aldi stores are planned for Matlock in Derbyshire, Wimborne in Dorset and Stepney Green in London, among others. In the North West, locations in Greater Manchester and Cumbria are set to welcome a new Aldi store before the end of 2026.
Giles Hurley, chief executive officer for Aldi UK and Ireland, said: “We’re working hard to make good food more affordable for every family - cutting prices on everyday essentials, signing long-term supplier agreements to help increase home-grown production, and continuing to bring affordable groceries to even more communities through our store opening programme.
“This is why more customers are buying more products at Aldi – our relentless focus on simple, everyday low prices and award-winning quality.”

Price cuts and supplier commitments
So far this year, Aldi said it has invested £340m in reducing prices on over 1,000 products, including orange juice, butter, fresh meat and frozen fish. The supermarket has also committed to sourcing at least 50% of products through long-term agreements with its suppliers by 2027.
Giles said: "The cost of food remains one of the biggest pressures on households across the country. Recent droughts at home and events overseas have highlighted just how fragile our food system is and why food security must be a long-term national priority."
The supermarket has increased Store Assistant pay twice this year, with its minimum hourly rate now standing at £13.50 nationally and £14.88 for employees working within the M25.
