Aldi is set to open 25 new stores across the UK as part of a £370 million investment, with the German supermarket chain identifying “priority locations” to expand its footprint. The move aims to bring affordable groceries to more communities and create jobs, with Aldi consistently named the cheapest supermarket in the UK.
Investment and expansion plans
Aldi will invest more than £370 million in new stores to achieve its long-term goal of 1,500 stores nationwide. The announcement follows a recent £40 million investment in London, where eight new stores are set to open this year.
Jonathan Neale, managing director of national real estate at Aldi UK, said: “We know how important it is for people to have access to affordable, high-quality food close to where they live, which is why we’re focused on identifying the communities that would benefit most from a new Aldi store. Opening new stores in these areas means we can bring great value to more customers, while also creating jobs and offering industry-leading pay.”
