Aldi is rebranding as 'Baldi' for one day only outside BST Hyde Park on 10 July, handing out free bald caps and more to help Pitbull fans smash an official Guinness World Record.
Free Giveaways for Festival-Goers
The supermarket giant will operate a pop-up stall under the 'Baldi' logo and 'Firebald' banner, offering complimentary bald caps, aviator sunglasses, temporary tattoos, and ready-to-drink cocktail cans. The freebies are available while stocks last, allowing fans to channel their inner Mr. Worldwide as part of a world record attempt for the largest ever gathering of people donning bald caps.
Festival-goers can spot the stand outside Hyde Park and help themselves to the fancy dress items, along with ice-cold Infusionist and Stefanoff ready-to-drink cocktail cans before heading inside. The pop-up is designed to serve as a photo opportunity for fans prior to entering the venue.
Support from Aldi
Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: "When we heard Pitbull and his fans were attempting this world record at BST Hyde Park, we knew we had to show our support and get involved with Baldi." She added: "The stall will be on hand to help fans transform into Mr. Worldwide, so if you're in need of aviators or a bald cap to complete your look, keep an eye out for Baldi as you make your way to the festival."
Origin of the World Record Attempt
The world record concept originated from BBC Radio 1 DJ Greg James on his Breakfast show. As soon as Pitbull's BST Hyde Park headline performance was confirmed, Greg enthusiastically proposed the idea of a world record attempt on air. Pitbull caught wind of the appeal and messaged James directly to confirm his full support in bringing it to fruition.
The concept evolved into a massive fan phenomenon from Pitbull's recent tours, including his sold-out O2 Arena performances in London, where thousands of concert-goers began turning up wearing bald caps, aviators, and suits, fondly dubbing themselves "The Bald E's." Organisers swiftly embraced the opportunity to transform Greg James' on-air suggestion into an officially verified Guinness World Record attempt.
